Campaiging for change - Social Policy

Our experienced generalist advisers report Social Policy issues which point out unfair or illegal treatment of clients.

A Social Policy issue could be problems with:

  • Housing
  • Employment
  • Benefits
  • Bailiffs
  • Any other problems that a client can present

The issue/s are reported through a Bureau Evidence Form by our Social Policy Co-ordinator and sent to Citizens Advice.  Citizens Advice collect the evidence and may write a report or lobby Parliament.

Please also see the national site An external link opening in a new window. for more ways the bureaux influence change.

Examples of Social Policy Issues

  • Discrimination

  • Communication with statutory agencies e.g. DWP

  • Tax Credits Overpayments Disputes

  • Housing
